We believe that the best way to reduce poverty is to ensure that all people have access to a quality education. Through our partnership with buildOn we have helped build 21 schools in underdeveloped countries, with several more schools funded and in progress.
buildOn partners with community members who make a solemn promise by signing the buildOn Covenant to contribute volunteer hours to build their new school. Each village provides land, local materials, and thousands of hours of labor. They also commit to send girls and boys to school in equal numbers. This sustainable approach ensures that schools are built with a community, not for a community— because the people we work with are true partners, not recipients of aid.
