Levittown Set to Welcome In Trendy New Resale Store

LEVITTOWN, Pennsylvania — “Uptown Cheapskate is the perfect fit for someone that enjoys fashion, but doesn’t believe a high price tag is needed to look good,” said Jodi Matriccino, the owner of the new Uptown Cheapskate in Levittown. Truer words have never been spoken, and now customers in the northern Philadelphia area and beyond can experience that for themselves, as all are invited to the store’s grand opening on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 4 p.m.

The store is located at 1323 E. Lincoln Highway in the Langhorne Shopping Center across from Lowe’s. Matriccino and her staff have been buying great clothing items from local customers and vendors for weeks to get ready for the grand opening. Matriccino said customers have been anticipating the day the store would finally be open to sell items, “And we are really happy to finally invite the community in to take advantage of our great prices.” Those great prices include up to 70 percent off retail costs for brands like Free People, Urban Outfitters, Madewell and Lululemon.

Everyone is invited for the grand opening on Feb. 7 at 4 p.m., but there will be grand opening activities — including amazing giveaways — taking place at the store all weekend. Customers can also learn more about swapping out their wardrobe items that never get used for cash or store credit.

For people not familiar with the resale industry, Uptown Cheapskate follows a simple model: Buy the best gently used clothes from people for cash or store credit, then offer it at affordable prices to other fashionable customers. It’s a model that benefits the environment as well as your wallet.

Matriccino said it best: “I love the resale clothing industry because it just makes sense. We all have so many items in our closet that we’ve worn a couple of times and never wear again. Selling items to Uptown not only keeps these clothes out of landfills, but allows everyone to enjoy great fashion at reasonable prices.”

Come and bring friends to this monumental event for Uptown Cheapskate, and get the first look at outfits, shoes, and accessories. Stay updated through our Facebook event at www.facebook.com/UptownLanghorne.

A Grand Opening to Remember Is Coming to Tampa Palms

TAMPA PALMS, Florida — Trendy resale is now available in Tampa Palms with Uptown Cheapskate, an exciting new store that will host all interested customers for activities, giveaways, and treasure hunt-style shopping at its grand opening on Nov. 8 at 4 p.m.

Located at 16031 Tampa Palms Boulevard West near Publix, this Uptown Cheapskate store is 4,500 square feet of trendy clothes, shoes, and accessories at up to 80 percent off mall prices. Customers will recognize brand names that Uptown Cheapskate carries such as: Free People, Urban Outfitters, Madewell and Lululemon.

The grand opening celebration has been a long time coming — it’s common practice for Uptown Cheapskate franchise stores to first have an “open to buy” period where members of the public, as well as vendors, can sell used clothes for cash or store credit. The store is now stocked and ready for business.

For owner Amber Watt, overseeing the store operations is an exciting career change. “This job is just plain fun,” says Watt, who comes from a background in engineering. She believes wholeheartedly in bringing good fashion resale options to the people of Tampa. “There are so many ways to express your personality through fashion.”

Watt and her staff promise a celebration not to be missed with the Grand Opening, which is actually a multi-day event. Customers in attendance can enter giveaways and contests, including the chance to win free clothes for up to a year. On top of that, with every purchase during Grand Opening weekend, customers will walk away with a mystery gift card worth up to $50.

If that’s not enough, customers will also get to party with a live DJ the night of Nov. 8, and the first 40 customers in line will be entered to win a pizza from local favorite Cappys.

That community is at the heart of the new store. Most of the staff members are local students, and Watt has personally become familiar with many from the community in recent months. “It’s one of the most attractive places to live in the United States,” says Watt, who is excited to offer those living in this beautiful community the choice to dress their best without breaking the bank, and even earning money in the process.
