MIDLOTHIAN, VA—Local business owner, Maggie Mereand and her store manager, Jessica Johnson will hold the grand opening of their new store, Uptown Cheapskate, on Thursday, May 17th with doors opening at 4PM. This contemporary teen and young adult fashion re-seller, located at 1403-D Huguenot Road in Midlothian, pays shoppers cash for their clothes, shoes and other apparel items and resells them at up to 90 percent off retail prices.
Maggie has been in retail management for over 15 years, working both in-store and corporate environments and is excited to open her first Uptown Cheapskate. Maggie and Jessica are a hard working duo who have enjoyed getting to know those in the community.
“The support we have received from the community has been the most rewarding part of this adventure,” shares Jessica. “While we were confident in the success of bringing an Uptown Cheapskate to Midlothian, the immediate response has been positively overwhelming. We appreciate and value each and every customer that has walked through our door and have built some amazing relationships along the way.”
The buy, sell, trade concept Uptown Cheapskate offers is a win-win scenario. Members in the community can declutter their closets and earn cash on the spot, while style-hunters can find designer clothing at up to 90 percent less than retail.
For several weeks, the store has been open to the public to purchase customers’ gently used fashions, filling the racks in preparation for the grand opening, Thursday, May 17th. Customers will soon be able to come in and shop brand name clothing and accessories at up to 90 percent less than retail. In addition to carrying hundreds of recycled items, the new Uptown Cheapskate store will also offer many new products including jewelry, shoes and assorted clothing items.
The grand opening event is one not to be missed, doors open at 4pm and the savings will continue through the weekend. For frequent updates, pictures and happenings in the store, follow us at UptownMidlothian on Facebook, and Instagram or our store website.
